Parental leave in the ATP family

The birth of my second daughter coincided almost exactly with the opening of ATP’s new office in Nuremberg. I hugely enjoyed the two months of parental leave that I was permitted to take to mark the event. My three “girls” (wife and daughters) and I spent this time in China, where the grandparents were waiting longingly to see their grandchildren. And the longing of the parents to see their children, each of whom had grown up as an only child, was at least twice as great as the distance between Germany and China. This particular period is now over, but the friendliness and recognition of my colleagues, the multidisciplinary culture, and the openness and humanity of the ATP family mean that I feel very much at home here.
