3rd Prize in Negotiation Procedure
Tiroler Kliniken is planning a new building for Building 2 and its psychiatric stations at the provincial hospital in Hall in Tirol. ATP architects engineers won 3rd prize in a negotiation procedure. The jury offered particular praise to the proposed building type, the modular timber structure, and the spatial and atmospheric qualities of the design.
ATP designed the new building as a compact, longitudinal standalone structure on a stepped back ground floor base. The new Building 2 slips in between the existing structures and continues the sense of visual and physical transparency that dominates the hospital complex. And yet the new building also appears as a clearly legible, autonomous element. To this end, the existing copper beeches on the site are used to highlight the entrance of the new building.
Pioneering ecological contribution
The comprehensive energy concept envisages the use of locally available natural and regenerative energy sources as a means of significantly reducing the CO2 footprint. Overall, the design offers optimal conditions for meeting the objectives of the program “TYROL 2050 – our province will be energy independent” and the requirements of the EU Green Deal.
