ICONIC AWARD

Award for Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar

Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar, Croatia, which was designed by ATP architects engineers, Zagreb, has been awarded the well-known ICONIC AWARD 2023 in the “Innovative Architecture” category. The architectural glamping statement combines the camping philosophy of “living in the open air” with all the refinement of a five-star resort. The project already received the BigSEE Architecture Award and was also nominated for the Grand Prix Award, both in 2022.

ATP Zagreb was commissioned by the tourism company Falkensteiner to design a glamping destination on the basis of an existing campsite. The complex refurbishment project included the building of a new reception, restaurants, sanitary areas, and a range of other facilities that have transformed the image of the camp.

Sculptural design
The articulated and deeply cantilevered roofs enable the architecture to enter into dialog with nature. The sculptural forms of the buildings, which can be seen from afar, establish points of orientation in the constantly changing camp. Interior and exterior spaces flow harmoniously together, creating unique places that absorb the idyllic surroundings without harming them in any way. Roof elements and glazed facades facilitate maximum levels of daylight. The stylishly geometrical design stretches from the restaurant and wellness complex to the pool landscape – the centerpiece of the camp.

Award ceremony: 4th October 2023 during Expo Real in Munich.
