Architecture & Design Collection Award 2022
Award for IWC Manufacturing Center
The IWC Manufacturing Center, which was integrally designed by ATP architects engineers, has received the International Architecture & Design Collection Award 2022 in the “Industrial Architecture Built” category.
Manufacturing center for luxury watches
Filigree and timeless – and with an aesthetic that hints at the pavilion-like buildings of the Modern Movement – the architectural concept by ATP Zurich is closely related to the high-quality design of IWC’s luxury watches. The “exquisite manufactory” slips elegantly and smoothly into the rolling landscape near Schaffhausen am Rhein, as a standalone building with an extraordinary aura.
Designed with a focus on energy efficiency and for maximum flexibility, longevity, and cost-effectiveness, the facility brings together the production of components, movements, and cases with a showroom, in which visitors can experience the entire world of IWC at first hand – all under a single roof.
The International Architecture & Design Collection Awards have been awarded by the Architecture & Design Community (ADC) since 2022 with the objective of promoting innovative, forward-looking, and sustainable design approaches. The criteria for the evaluation include the areas of Innovation & Originality, Design & Aesthetics, and Functionality & Spatial Integration. In 2022, more than 450 projects were submitted.
