More about the project
Office and administration Frankfurt Competition

Our design supports the vision of the Innovation Center Düren (ICD) as a catalyst for creative processes and emphasizes its impact as a driver of innovation in the local economy.

The economic and innovation network of the city of Düren is planning a pioneering location for economic development and social transformation with the Innovation Center Düren (ICD). The new building, which will be the centerpiece of the emerging innovation district, provides a multifunctional environment for startups, technology-oriented companies, enablers, university partners, and educational institutions to train the workforce of tomorrow. Our concept convinced in the EU-wide tendering process with an identity-creating architecture featuring flexible working, learning, and meeting spaces, as well as sustainable solutions - becoming an active catalyst for creative processes.

With ATP, we have gained an experienced and internationally recognized partner who shares our vision of a sustainable, open, and innovative place for the future.

The building, with its interplay of sculpturality and transparency, creates a striking urban statement in close proximity to the railway station area. The concave building shape, which creates a distinctive edge along the railway tracks, and the glass facade spanning over six stories, give the building an iconic presence.

Inside, open, communicative spatial structures create an inspiring environment for exchange and development. The three-story lobby with a generous seating staircase is a central meeting point and offers space for diverse uses. The sustainable concept integrates circular construction, green facades and roofs, PV modules, as well as rainwater harvesting – contributing to a healthy and sustainable working environment.
