Training and further development of architects and engineers play a central role in our company. A successful example of this is the dual study program 'Smart Building Technologies,' which ATP co-initiated and co-developed.
Practical Studies in Building Technology
The program "Smart Building Technologies" at MCI, the entrepreneurial university in Innsbruck, has been offering a comprehensive three-year education in the field of building technology since 2021. The program combines academic knowledge with practical experience in a partner company.
Selected students work at ATP architects engineers in Innsbruck in professional building services planning teams. This provides them with insights into the challenges and solutions of practice and contributes early to the development of digital building planning.
The combined study conveys technical knowledge, sustainable planning, and digital forms of collaboration – central topics in the construction industry. The practical application in an interdisciplinary environment at ATP complements the theoretical content with an exciting dimension.
First graduates already celebrate their graduation
In the autumn of 2024, the first year group of the dual degree program successfully graduated – an important milestone for both the MCI and us as a cooperation partner and training provider. The graduates now have valuable knowledge at the interface of theory and practice and are prepared to contribute to innovative solutions for the smart buildings of tomorrow.
ATP is leading the way here and enabling graduates to start their careers directly at ATP. This pleases us because it enriches the integrated collaboration between architects and engineers and contributes to the further development of the ATP corporate culture.

About Smart Building Technologies
The study program covers areas such as automation and information technology, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and sanitary engineering, as well as lighting technology and their impact on comfort in spaces. Practical knowledge is deepened in work phases at partner companies. The focus is on developing technical solutions for future-relevant challenges in the field of digitalized buildings. Courses in economics, management, and social skills complement the technical content and specifically prepare graduates for entering the workforce.
