The latest issue of FASSADE | FAÇADE dedicates a seven-page feature to the modernisation and nearly zero-energy optimisation of the Plodine Tower in Rijeka.
The article explores the transformation of the Plodine Tower in Rijeka—from an unused shell construction into a striking vertical icon. At the heart of the redesign is the highly reflective glass facade, which captures the sky and sea, lending the tower a distinctive, crystal-like lightness. At the same time, the building meets the high energy standards of a Nearly Zero-Energy Building.
"We envisioned a crystal on a rock, reflecting the movements of the sea and clouds in the sky," says Dario Travaš, Architect, Partner, Managing Director in Zagreb and Belgrade, describing the design.
