For generations, architecture and film have been inspiring each other. This year's Christmas donation supported the first Architecture Film Days Zurich, organized by architect Ágota Komlósi and musician Péter Polány from Hungary, following a suggestion from the Swiss office.

With films from around the world, the organizers enthused a young audience for the far-reaching dimensions of architecture.

In architecture, it's like in the film business: Quality requires inspiration, clear leadership, and a perfectly rehearsed team. We are proud to have supported this beautiful initiative as the Main Partner and enjoyed the many aesthetic moments in the cinema,” Michael Gräfensteiner is pleased.

In 22 films and short films, the organizers showed the diversity of architecture and the relationships buildings have with historical, socio-political, and technical themes at the Stüssihof cinema in Zurich's Niederdorf. The cinematic journey ranged from America to Korea and from Scandinavia to Africa. The spectrum ranged from architecturally rich films by Bjarke Ingels to sociologically interesting insights into deserted infrastructures, the Chinese wholesale market, and architecture for refugees. In addition to the movie screenings, the organizers also facilitated intense discussions and conversations such as those on “The Role of Women in Architecture”.
