Real Estate Conference Zagreb

Dario Travaš on the advantages of integrated design in real estate development.

Dario Travaš, ATP partner in Zagreb and Head of Design in Vienna, participated in the special panel discussion “The Indescribable Power of Real Estate Development – People who build Modern Cities and Beautiful Buildings”. Together with a panel consisting of Giulio Bernetti, Chief Urban Planner of the City of Trieste, Slawomir Szpunar, International Marketing Director of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, and Predrag Tutić, Country Manager of CBS, he discussed the unstoppable power of real estate development. In his following keynote speech Travaš, who is also the Managing Director of ATP Zagreb, used a selection of ATP projects to explain the advantages of integrated design with BIM for real estate development.

As an example of a particularly successful building he presented the Research Institute for Molecular Pathology (IMP), which was integrally designed with BIM by ATP Vienna. “Building a successful building no longer means just thinking about an attractive design and the use of state-of-the-art technology,” said Dario Travaš. “The most important thing is the core process of a building. At IMP, our approach of interdisciplinary cooperation enabled us to succeed in creating optimal working conditions and the corresponding environment. This is also encouraging communication amongst the researchers and, hence, fulfilling a key requirement of the client.”

ATP was also represented at the Real Estate Development Conference for the first time with its own stand. Impressed by the fascinating panel discussion many visitors to the conference took advantage of the opportunity to get to know ATP’s design philosophy and the processes of a learning office.

Integrated design at ATP
With more than 40 years’ experience, ATP is one of the leading offices for integrated design as well as an early mover on the BIM scene. Architects and structural and building services engineers develop ideas together as equal partners and focus on finding the best solution for their clients. This interdisciplinary design culture enables ATP to benefit from all the advantages of digital design.
