Change the business

Innovations at IG Lebenszyklus Bau

Innsbruck, 9th March 2016 – The restructured IG Lebenszyklus Bau has big plans for 2016. It called a press conference to officially unveil its new orientation, plans and objectives.

With its new name IG Lebenszyklus Bau, the former IG Lebenszyklus Hochbau is bringing the areas of architecture, engineering and infrastructure together within a single organization. This will allow the lifecycle-oriented models and service offerings developed for buildings to be adapted to the infrastructural sector. Decision-makers are convinced that the entire area of underground engineering works, which has already reacted very positively to the integration of lifecycle costs and financing, will also profit from this innovation. In addition to this, the mutual exchange of expertise amongst clients in the context of the association should also bring considerable benefits.

“Change the business” is also the name of a campaign launched by IG Lebenszyklus Bau in 2016 which was presented at the press conference by ATP CEO and, since February, honorary board member of IG Lebenszyklus Bau, Professor Christoph Achammer. The aim of the campaign is to provide evidence that the association’s models lead to economically functional and ecologically optimized buildings. A highpoint of this is the first edition of the Lifecycle Award.
In addition to this, a free e-learning platform has been launched with the aim of sharing practice-oriented basic information for the design, construction, financing and operation of lifecycle-oriented buildings. The course starts on 11th April and the deadline for entering projects for the award is the end of May.
