Urban Planning in Reutte

Redserve develops new urban district

Reutte, 14th August 2015 – An entirely new urban district is being created on the site of Reutte’s former textile factory. Thomas Oberhofer, Managing Director of Redserve, ATP’s consulting company for real estate development, presented the major project in a press conference. The concept for the project envisages the creation of a sustainable new urban district of regional importance.

The remodeled site is to become an area of living, working and leisure for the people of Reutte. Its proximity to the center and, at the same time, its closeness to the River Lech (a Natura 2000 area of natural protection) as well as the planned local amenities, retirement home, kindergarten, schools and hotels make the project particularly attractive.

The local planner Armin Walch describes the development of the RTW site as the “most significant urban design challenge of the century for the market town of Reutte”. Dionys L. Lehner, Chairman of the Board of Linz Textil, which has a relationship with Reutte going back over centuries, spoke of a level of harmony which is rare and is delighted with the establishment of “a vision with a real basis” for the site of the factory which was closed in 2008.
