Opening of Maximarkt
ATP puts a smile on the afce of the new Hypermarket
Salzburg, 22nd October 2013 – After just 18 months on site involving two phases which allowed normal operations to continue the new Maximarkt in Anif opened on the 22nd October 2013. Originally built in 1974 and last modernized in 1994 the Maximarkt in Anif is the largest hypermarket in the Salzburg Region and a popular and busy family market which currently welcomes more than a million customers a year.
ATP was originally commissioned to develop a clear basic concept for the corporate architecture of Maximarkt in 2002, after it was taken over by INTERSPAR, and this has been used by the company in the design of its new stores ever since. In 2009 the team led by the architect Andrei Florian of ATP Innsbruck developed a sensual variant of the concept for the hypermarket in Anif: thin, simply wrapped envelopes create an impression of physicality while rounded corners frame the transparent storefronts. The red frame which has become the image of the brand surrounds the entire entrance portal and continues as a band “wrapping” around the internal space. Inside the building one senses the warmth of the timber building envelope.
The modern and dynamic design is backed up by a consistent ecological and sustainable concept.
