Christoph M. Achammer speaks to “Building Opportunities”

Vienna, 25th September 2014 – Research and innovation were the focuses of the eleventh annual “Building Opportunities” discussion in the Gironcoli Crystal of Strabag House. ATP CEO Christoph M. Achammer, Professor of Industrial Building and Interdisciplinary Planning at Vienna University of Technology, spoke to around 200 guests from the construction industry about current areas of debate between architects and builders.

Addressing the question of shared language versus diverging interests as well as other key issues and potential future developments, Achammer demanded a sustainable change in the process. He advocated an increase in the attention given to building lifecycles and proposed the use of lifecycle-oriented, integrated design processes as a means of responding to the challenges of designing and realizing the buildings of the future.
