The ICSC European Shopping Centre Awards are considered the highest award in retail real estate on both the international and European levels.
Prague, 29. 04. 2010 – The presentation of the ICSC Shopping Centre Awards for Europe was preceded by extensive and painstaking research by the members of the jury. Christoph M. Achammer was the architectural representative on the jury, taking his place alongside investors, retailers, operators and market specialists. An expert in the area of sustainability was also included.
The European Shopping Centre Awards of the ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) are the leading awards for retail real estate in both Europe and, together with their sister awards in America and Asia, globally. They present a unique opportunity for architects, developers, owners and operators to present their abilities as an example for the entire industry.
An eight-member jury from across Europe selected between three and five finalists in six categories from all the entrants. The finalists were visited by the jury members and analysed in detail. In a final jury meeting prizes and honourable mentions were awarded in each category. The prize winners will take part in next year’s ICSC Best-of-the-Best competition which takes place in the USA.
“I have been the jury member responsible for the architectural and design content since 2009” explained Christoph M. Achammer “and I have never experienced such an expert group of colleagues. A large amount of desktop research was required followed by visits to Greece, Turkey, Germany, the UK and Poland and the results are – I think – well worth the effort”.
