Salzburg, 29.10.2009 – The ZIB “Centre in the Mountain” at the base of the Kapuzinerberg in Salzburg has been reopened as a fully-fledged shopping centre after the completion of a refurbishment project by ATP Architects and Engineers, Vienna.
ATP was commissioned to design the revitalisation of the run-down residential, office and retail complex with its empty units at first floor level in such a way that the retail spaces in the entire complex could be optimised and enlarged. At the same time the former courtyard was converted into a two storey atrium and the mall extended out to the street by means of a new main entrance topped with a glass cube. The lift foyers of the underground parking are friendly and well lit and the majority of the shoppers who arrive by car in the centre have the choice of three panorama lifts which will transport them into the heart of the shopping centre.
