Honourable mention European Architecture Prize 2009 Energy+Architecture Hilti AG, Thüringen, Vorarlberg
The European Architecture Prize 2009 Energy + Architecture is awarded to buildings which score highly in the areas of energy efficiency and design excellence.
Given that the design and construction of buildings is a key area in which energy efficiency in Europe can be improved, the aim of this award is to encourage the development of a sustainable building culture. The prize-winning buildings are to be presented in an exhibition at the German Architecture Centre (DAZ). With around 18,000 square metres of floor space, the new building contains production and logistics areas and a fully automated palette and container store as well as peripherally organised support areas and offices.
