2nd Prize Invited competition Austrian Airlines Schwechat, A
The aim of the competition was the design of a new Headquarters to mark the integration of four airlines (Austrian Airlines, Tyrolian, Lauda Air and Rheinthalflug).
The architectural concept embodies the requirements of the competition organisers for a project which enables spontaneous and informal communication between colleagues and teams on all levels, without relinquishing the idea of specific spaces for individual work. The “Open Sky” lobby offers the complex an attractive, large foyer with very low additional operating costs and provides a communicative and spatial connection between inside and outside, top and bottom, backstage and front of house.
