1st Prize Invited Competition Gerätewerk Matrei Matrei a. Brenner, A
A competition for the construction of a new plant for the firm Gerätewerk Matrei for the production of heating and cooking equipment. Two existing production facilities were integrated onto a new site. The concept is driven by the notion of "working on the river", whereby the layout thematises such existing landscape features as escarpments and a wild stream.
The modelling of the various units – production, storage and administration – is sympathetic to the surrounding urban scale, and pays particular attention to the complicated form of the site.
