ATP Zurich wins 1st prize in the study competition

Horgen, 1st November 2017 – The “Amalie Widmer” Foundation is planning to refurbish and expand its care home on Lake Zurich and invited architects to participate in a two-phase competition. ATP Zurich won 1st prize in the study phase. The ATP team, which specializes in the design of care facilities, placed a special emphasis on the functional design of the rooms. According to Head of Design Ulrike Feucht “Our objective was to offer rooms of the same high quality in every sector and to create a concept that can also be applied to all other residential facilities.”

ATP Zurich is proposing a comfortable concept that is appropriate for the residents and their care needs. The wards, the assisted living facility and other support spaces that were added later to the existing buildings will be optimized and updated in line with the latest standards. The central organization of the operational areas minimizes travel distances for the personnel while the village-like layout of the internal volumes of the care complex offers residents a rich variety of walks.
